WELCOME TO BRIDGE BUILDERS OF TODAY

ABOUT BRIDGE BUILDERS OF TODAY
Hello there!
You might be wondering who we are and what YWAM is. Let us enlighten you:
YWAM (pronounced “Why-wam”) stands for Youth with a mission. It’s an international and interdenominational non-profit organisation that aims to “know God and make Him known”. There are about 1000 locations in 180 Nations where you can find YWAM. We are currently located in Jeffreys Bay, South Africa (http://www.ywamjbay.org/ ). There are six of us that are currently doing the Discipleship Training School (DTS). This programme takes six months and fits into the first of YWAM’s three ministry categories: Training. The other categories are Evangelism and Mercy Ministries- even if the Organisation is independent. [To learn more about YWAM and it’s mission and values, go to https://ywam.org/about-us/ ] Three of those months will be spend here in Jeffreys Bay to help us train and prepare to be missionaries and servants so that we can stay true to YWAM’s motto. We learn by attending lectures on topics such as Character and Nature of God, The Word [of God], Spiritual Warfare and many more. Additionally, we will serve the community by doing local outreach by helping on projects such as “Jeffreys Bay Recycle Project”, “The Joshua Project” and building connections with families that need support. The other three months will be spend doing an outreach as an act of servitude in other locations.
ABOUT OUTREACH
Our outreach starts out in Durban, then continues in France, Germany and rounds off Mpumalanga. We will spend about three weeks in each location. We will spend most of out time in children's ministry. Usually we dance with them and perform skits with a message that we make sure we elaborate. We believe that this ministry should not be underestimated, especially seeing that Jesus himself called the children into His presence.
Each and every member of YWAM -including the staff members- must raise their own funds for everything they need while at YWAM. It is after all an NPO with no salaried positions. It is at this part where we would like to extend an invitation for any donation, be it financial aid (We do hope to fly to Europe, not swim), ideas for fundraising or prayer assistance. We need to raise R 32 000 for each member of our team. That adds up to R 224 000 in total. By end of February we need to raise R 84 000 to pay for visas and plane tickets. (If you want to convert the amount of money needed into another currency, go to www.oanda.com ) Any help will really and truly be appreciated and received with thankfulness. If you’d like to donate anything at all, we will leave our bank details at the bottom of the homepage.
OUR TEAM
Perhaps you’d like to know who you’re spending this time, prayer or money for. Let’s start alphabetically:
CLARISSA VAN ZYL

She was born and raised in Ermelo, South Africa. She is 18 going on 19 and feels called to be a full time missionary. She really loves blueberries.
MARLENE LANGE

Marlene grew up in Pretoria, South Africa. She just turned 19. Her passions include dancing and -as we’ve recently discovered- she can’t go 24 hours without singing Disney songs.
NATHAN BRANDT

He is 22 and has been living in J-Bay for the last few months. He’s been trained in boiler-making and one day wants to continue in that trade. All places are a platform for mission work.
NATHAN COETZEE

AKA Sipho
Nathan is the oldest of 13 (And no, we know what you’re thinking: They’re not all his blood siblings). He just finished two years at the Pneumatix Performing Arts College. His dream is to work with worship teams. For such a nice person as he is, he has an oddly evil-sounding laugh.
NIELLE CRAFFORD

Nielle is also 18 going on 19 and grew up in Pretoria and Bredasdorp. She has a passion for the ocean and one day wants to join the “Ocean Rescue Project” and travel the world.
QHAMISA NDWEBI

AKA Q
(No, most of us can’t pronounce the name and we’re very sorry for that. ☺)
Qhamisa is the last Millennium’s-Edition of the team- meaning she too is turning 19 this year. She has a big heart for children and dreams of being a teacher.

OUR LEADER MICEALA MEYER
Micaela will be the outreach team leader. She is 19 years old and is busy with part time studies in financial management while staffing at YWAM. She is a outgoing and fun-loving person who, as in Miss Congeniality’s words, really wants world peace.
We all get along well, even though we’ve only known each other for a few weeks. We attribute this to Disney Songs, Uno and Twister along with the certainty that God has placed every one of us here for a purpose.
We are truly grateful for this formative time of getting to know God, ourselves and each other better in the context of the Discipleship Training School.
We are only at the beginning of our journey of discovering God, his heart for the individual & the nations and his purposes for his creation. We know that this journey will continue for the rest of our lives. It is a privilege we are not taking for granted, and as such we want to do our best to be good stewards of all contributions. We want to be expectant with what God can do in and through us.
If any of this sparks your interest, we’d like to heartily invite you to keep visiting this page as we will post regular updates. Unfortunately, we do not have much to tell as yet since we have only started our work here. We would also ask you to encourage others to read our stories.
We would be glad to return some kind of favour. If you have any prayer request, you can email us at the "Get in touch" section and we will be glad to take whatever is close to your heart into our prayers.
And with that we’d like to say farewell with the words of Mark 16:15, the verse that started this entire organisation, and wishes of a blessed time for you!
“ Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature”
